About
Welcome to Young Cheng Buffet, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of London at 39 Wardour St, W1D 6PX. This buffet restaurant stands out not just for its prime location, opposite the iconic Les Misérables theatre, but for its incredible array of Asian dishes that promise a delicious journey through flavors.
Whether you're a fan of traditional Chinese cuisine or eager to explore various Asian dishes, Young Cheng Buffet offers something for everyone. Priced at a reasonable £16 for an all-you-can-eat experience, it provides an exceptional value compared to other buffets in the vibrant Chinatown area. However, the quality here rises above the typical with freshly cooked dishes that ensure every bite is a delight.
From the first review by Charlie Fleming, we understand the allure of their chicken dumplings and battered sweet potato slices. Diners consistently note that the food is served hot and fresh, a quality that elevates the buffet experience. Mike Scott couldn't praise the variety of meats and fish enough, especially the grilled prawns, demonstrating that there’s an emphasis on quality over quantity.
Young Cheng Buffet is not just about classic dishes; it caters to all palates with its diverse offering. TzeVele’s review highlights a selection ranging from humble chicken wings and fries to authentic Chinese cuisine, all seasoned to perfection. This means you can often find something that perfectly fits your current craving, whether it's comfort food or a more adventurous dish. The fresh vegetables and flavors clearly resonate with patrons, making each dining experience memorable.
The ambiance of the restaurant is vibrant and bustling, typical of a sought-after buffet. Despite the occasional lines, as mentioned by customers like TzeVele, the wait time is minimal, ensuring that you can dive into your meal swiftly. Friendly staff enhance the experience, making you feel welcome as you enjoy your meal.
For those looking for affordable takeout, Young Cheng Buffet also excels. As Amit Jethwa discovered, you can fill a takeaway box for just £8, offering an abundance that's hard to beat in central London. With a filling box of a variety of your favorite dishes, it’s a perfect solution for both gourmet cravings and budget-friendly dining.
If you're searching for a place that marries affordability with delightful flavors, look no further than Young Cheng Buffet. It’s an ideal choice for anyone wanting to indulge in a feast of Asian delights. Don't miss out on the chance to explore this flavorful haven in London—it's a delicious treat waiting for you!
“ Shaftesbury Avenue opposite Les Mis. I enjoy coming here so much, the staff are lovely and the food is always nice and either hot or very recently out the kitchen temperature. I especially like the chicken dumplings and battered sweet potato slices. Sweet and sour is also a go-to for me. Whenever I want a treat and I am in central London I come to Young Cheng Buffet. It can get very busy but that is a GOOD thing, there is downstairs seats too, but no lift and all the food is upstairs but it isn't an issue, just go careful lol. The place is clean and tidy and the food is great. I see lots of negativity in other reviews but they seem to have accidentally expected a red carpet and to be showered with rose petals... That ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN lol ”
“ We had a surprisingly good buffet lunch here today. Good quality meats and fish and a really good variety of dishes to try including some great grilled prawns. At 16 per head Young Cheng is a little more expensive than some buffets in chinatown, but this is very much worth the extra money for the better quality and variety of the food. The staff were pleasant and helpful and drinks are very fairly priced especially for london. No need to pile up your plate, its truly an ‘all you can eat’ buffet so as you plate up your next course the previous plate magically disappears from the table! ”
“ Wow! To start, the food was amazing. Big variety, for everyone. Simple dishes too, like chicken wings and fries, and more authentic Chinese food. Everything was super tasty and nicely seasoned. The vegetables were fresh and nicely cooked. We visited during rush hour and our wait outside was only 5 minutes. We paid 22 per person and we had 90 minutes to eat everything we wanted. We stayed for 60 minutes, we ate so much. All this time the staff was very friendly and always smiling and made sure to keep our table clean. They didn't speak English so well but it doesn't matter because they were very nice. The other people in the restaurant were smiling and eating with big appetite. A coca cola was only 2 The toilet was clean. Very good restaurant, thank you! ”
“ Delicious buffet. Only 8 for a to-go dish you can fill up. Ate here 2 nights in a row in London, and the food was enough to fill both my boyfriend and I. Several selections even late at night before close. Staff friendly. ”
“ Great little place, I was walking past and the buffet looked great and I was hungry so I thought to get a take away box which was 8 which is pretty good value. ”
